Abstract: This will be my farewell talk on my postdoctoral work in the NxR lab during the past 1.5 years. I will focus on benefits of variational integrators for structure-preserving discretization of LQR and Kalman filtering problems. We will briefly discuss how this can be used for efficient ergodic control. Lastly, I will report on how SAC (Sequential Action Control) can be used for stable manifold tracking.
