Jugando con los robots y circuitos (Playing with robots and circuits)

Elementary school kids assembling a circuit

NxR PhD student Nelson Rosa Jr. was an invited guest at a local after-school science program, Jugando con la Ciencia (Playing with Science). Jugando con la Ciencia is a Northwestern graduate student run program that provides science learning in the classroom for elementary school children who speak Spanish at Washington Elementary School in Evanston.  Nelson gave a presentation about his work in robotic locomotion and had the kids build an LED circuit, all in Spanish.  The hands-on activity taught the children the basics of assembling a circuit in a breadboard and explored how resistance affects current in a circuit by replacing the resistor in the circuit with different valued resistors.
