, a Postdoctoral Fellow in the NxR Lab, received the President’s award for outstanding dissertation at her alma mater in Paderborn, Germany. The prize was awarded at the New Year’s Reception on January 18th, 2015. Kathrin holds a PhD in applied mathematics and a Diploma in Technomathematik - mathematics and mechanical engineering, both from the University of Paderborn. She joined Prof. Todd Murphey’s group at Northwestern in July 2014. Her research is focused on structure-preserving numerical methods for optimization, control, and estimation tasks in robotics. She was also recently nominated a "GAMM Junior" from the International Association of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM).
