Information for Prospective Students

Hey there - welcome to the Neuroscience and Robotics Laboratory! If you're applying to graduate school and you'd like to join the NxR lab, the first step is to be admitted into one of the relevant graduate programs listed below. If you're an undergraduate student, directly email a faculty member whose interests align with your own to learn how you can get involved.

Mechanical Engineering

See the Mechanical Engineering website for information about applying to a graduate program. Here are some important dates:

  • December 31: PhD application deadline
  • January 15: First decisions released
  • April 15: Enrollment decision deadline

Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

Biomedical Engineering

Visit the Biomedical Engineering website for information about Biomedical Engineering graduate study. Important deadlines:

  • December 31: PhD application deadline
  • May 31: MS application deadline

Neuroscience

Learn about admissions to the Indepartmental Neuroscience PhD Program on their website. Like in the other programs, the application deadline for PhD study is December 31.

Master of Science in Robotics

McCormick offers an interdepartmental Master's degree program directed by NxR faculty Dr. Todd Murphey that is specifically focused on robotics.  Many of the classes related to the program are taught by NxR faculty, and students enrolled in the program often participate in research projects in NxR.  Read more about the program on their website.
